Summer - Choir - Tuesday 6:00-7:00pm (Free)

July 10th - August 14th.  East County Youth Choir is a free program provided by Staump Music School and the City of Santee Parks and Rec. This program gives the youth of Lakeside, Santee, and El Cajon the opportunity to learn and experience music, performance, and be a part of an ensemble. Because our community is lacking in music programs, Staump Music School will provide this free class to all the youth in our community, so that they may be exposed to music. The East County Youth Choir will teach students the fundamentals of music, and how to use this free vocal instrument we are all given. Students will gain skills in self-expression, organization, self-discipline, logical thinking, critical thinking, and follow-through. They will gain a sense of community, and responsibility. The East County Youth Choir is open to all levels of skill. This ensemble strengthens individual ability and teaches students how to sing as part of a choir. Students will obtain a basic knowledge of choral technique, and will develop harmonizing and vocal skills. They will gain an appreciation and knowledge of classical technique and theory, while also applying these techniques to popular music.
