Santee School District
After School Guitar Program

After school guitar class is a 10 week course designed for students in 4th-8th grade with little or no experience and even advanced players. This class focuses on popular styles of guitar playing with an emphasis on technique, music reading, chord symbols, scales, and ensemble performance. This is a no cost program sponsored by the Santee School District Foundation.

Guitar Class Schedule: Classes start the week of February 27th and end the week of May15th. (No class during Spring Break.)

Students may bring their own acoustic guitar, rent a guitar for $15, or purchase a new guitar for $99. Due to the popularity of the after school guitar program, we are asking that all guitar rentals and purchases be paid online before the start of class. This process will help ensure a smoother start to the first day of class. Teachers will only be accepting cash and check payments before class.

Registration for the after school guitar program is now closed. However, registration for Spring group classes at Staump Music School are still open. Spring group classes start the week of April 24th and will go for 8 weeks.

Group music classes are a fun and social way to learn a new instrument. Our group classes are 1 hour long and held once a week for 8 to 10 weeks depending on school calendars. All of our group classes have a limited number of seats available. We recommend group lessons for beginning and intermediate students. For more advanced players or students who are looking for a full customized learn process we highly recommend private lessons. Our group lessons are partnered with the City of Santee Parks and Rec as well as the Santee School District Foundation. For each student enrolled in a group music class we will donate $10 to the Santee School District Foundation. We are open by appointment only, if you would like to register or pay in person please call 619-212-6656 to schedule an appointment. Click on the classes below to find out more information.
